Rev. Malachi J. Alexander, born on September 29 2002, is a native of Camden, South Carolina, and the first born of Jacobi Alexander and the late Raekisha Masslieno. He received his primary education from Bethel-Hanberry Elementary where he received the turnaround award and his middle school education from Dent Middle were he was an active participant in AVID and student government. Rev. Malachi would later attend Richland Northeast High School and complete his secondary education while impacting his school community through his leadership in the Navy JROTC program and student government, as well as being an avid learner in the Horizon and International Baccalaureate magnet programs.
Since graduating high school in June of 2021, Malachi is currently enrolled at University of South Carolina pursuing a degree in African American Studies and minoring in Religious Studies and as a recipient of the Minority Serving Institution Scholarship Reservation for the US Navy, he minors in Naval Science as a US Midshipman to later commission as a Naval Officer upon graduating. But accomplishments go far beyond the classroom.
Licensed to preach at the age of 16 and Ordained at the age of 21, Rev. Malachi has had the opportunity to hold many ministerial leadership positions throughout the Camden and Columbia communities. He positions include Youth Associate Minister of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Camden, South Carolina, Youth President of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Association, Chaplain of the New Direction Community Choir of Camden, SC. Most recently, he served as the Director of Christian Education and Family Ministries at Platt Springs United Methodist Church of West Columbia, SC and as the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at Shiloh United Methodist Church of Gilbert, SC. He now Serves as a Philanthropy Intern at the Top grant-making Foundation in the Midlands, Central Carolina Community Foundation.
He is a visionary, servant leader, brother, son, man of faith, friend, and our founder of Future Youth Leaders Society, Inc.
